TOKYO - Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and International Criminal Court President Tomoko Akane on Friday discussed possible Japanese support after the court head was recently targeted by U.S. sanctions, the Foreign Ministry said.
The first Japanese to head The Hague-based court requested the talks, and Motegi asked what support she may need, according to a source familiar with the discussions.
